Alcoholism Condition_symptoms

notes notes March 2009 February 2009 January 2009

From 2 to 6 February we found ourselves in Fortaleza as fidei donum Italian North-East of Brazil (twenty in all, we were) for a moment of reflection on the socio-eonomico-social and religious and Brazil 's Italy and to exchange experiences on a specific theme: the' use of resources coming from eonomiche 'Italy that the missionaries find themselves having to deal with the implications educational, cultural and religious that this entails. Although we are in the midst of enormous social needs eonomiche and one is asked if our lead from the outside money does not brake in any way the development of greater local justice or a local solidarity, or if you do not create a dependency ,....
All this is compounded by the fact that when the Italians leave many social projects vanish and local communities have other ways to manage money. Starting from the practical experience we thought some criteria to guide us:
  • needs before the charity can not stop, but you must arrange to be authentic, transparent and effective.
  • not only projects but also social pastoral must be agreed with the local Church and the most can be shared from birth to completion.
  • is better to make short-term projects, especially training, always ask for a contribution to the economic stakeholders, so that everyone do their part. (There is none so poor that it has nothing to give, or so rich that have nothing to receive).

A little fact that can help the priests and the group coordinators to live its mission to enhance the creativity of each : On Ash Wednesday I had prepared the ashes in a beautiful handmade vase of 'Ammazzonia. Arrived in the community to celebrate Mass on the altar I find a simple dish coffee that someone had brought from home. I did not felt to pull the vessel out of the bag craft. In fact, I thanked the person who had caused the saucer. Perhaps these are small things that help us to change their way of being Church and to build some cathedral or less but a more respectful and fraternal spirit.

The last day of February, I attended the "velorio" (prayer service that replaces the funeral here) for a girl of 19 years dead in 15 days for an infection to the arm. The doctor told him it was nothing. The anger coexists with the resignation, but does not stop our hope and action for a different future.
