'm back January 28 in Brazil. I left many faces of loved ones, especially those who have not been able to meet but I'm even more expensive.
I found the usual file to get water, roads full of potholes, the eyes of children on the streets looking, smiling, a look friend.
I found the joy of celebrating Mass in churches poor but rich in faith and participation, where everyone wants to do at least a prayer of the faithful.
Don Daniel and Don Horatio, just returned from Belem, told us of an international forum of exchange of theological and social ideas and thoughts especially on environmental issues.
E 'came the Italian family of Paul and Louise with her children Emma, Alessandra, Adele and Mario. They arrived at night and for this, although the house where they are going to live had been prepared with balloons and welcome written, it was not possible to organize better reception. But in the morning a neighbor, one who does not participate in parish life, he attacked a loud stereo with an Italian song. A small sign of the great heart of this people.
Hello.

What To Use To Clean The Outside Of A Trailer

Merry Christmas 2008

"Natal: uma estrela diferente"
"Christmas: a star other than" 2.9

Matthew speaks of a star that he is in heaven, but down at the place where the baby.
The star sign of dreams and hopes of many women and men, a sign of light and life that goes beyond our experience, the natural sign that refers to a creative artist extraordinaire, have always filled with children's drawings, books, movies and video-game young people and adults.
But the evangelist Matthew speaks of a star other than, with a special mission: to indicate that heaven is on earth. This star may be met in Brazil and in Italy, you can meet her where there is a small glow, inside and outside of us.
Sometimes I stop to observe this star other than watching the children here, very numerous, shelled from every angle as chicks, looking for a friendly face and, while not very often, no offer extraordinary treasure: their smile. It seems impossible, but here it seems that children always smile. Step in our house before going to school to drink a glass of water and they say you have not eaten their lunch will be the snack of the school. And you say it with a smile so natural that breaks our paternalistic logic of immediate assistance. Their smile looks like a dress of gold and precious stones which illuminates the world like flowers light up the lawn. Even
anger to participate in the "velorio for young people murdered (on average only one in our parish will die each week, those who know) is transformed into peace and light in that place of pain. Death lived in prayer helps to perceive the value of life.
Small daily struggles to survive in the floods in the south of Brazil or Italy, for anger and reconcile after fights, to design a different future together are all heavenly lights came down to earth.
Thus the birth of Jesus is being fulfilled here today with us as you, illuminating your life with the love of God descended to earth. Thanks star.

São Luís: a mission alive, thank God
Our mission this year has had a series of extraordinary events that we have worked hard and we are giving the perception that what little we can do, compared to much that would be necessary, if done with the Lord, is something that goes beyond our expectations and becomes a deep impression on many people.
remember some facts in particular: • the visit of the 8
deacons of the diocese of Verona, which together with the rector Don Luigi Verzé have opened a connection between our being here, "far from Verona" and concern for the formation of future priests of our diocese.
• The availability of family Annechini: Luisa and Paul with their children Emma, Alex, Adele and Mario, who in January 2009 will be part of our mission for a year and a half. Their presence will no doubt be a generous witness of a missionary family and priests will help us to live mission with a more attentive to the concrete life of families.
• The appointment of Don Daniel at Diocesan Pastoral Coordinator of the São Luís: sign of a significant role that our mission is taking in relation to the diocese who are serving.
• A radio (one hour per week) of the newly formed Foundation JPA (Justice and Peace embrace) and entirely free animated by young people of the parish.

to where we are walking ...
+ Education: towards enhancement of the parish and community dimension focuses on the person, but also transforms it.
+ Liturgy: Towards a "faithful celebrate, joyful and creative that gives importance to the Word of God with a common, independent and responsible ministry.
+ Charity: towards a more solidarity and self-organized, but with the knowledge that love can not remain a prisoner of any rule.
The many social projects that are our mission and that are sustained in large part to the help of parishes and friends of Verona is a daily miracle that occupy most of our energies and our time. I am a little challenge to the global economic crisis very heavy: the charity so far seems to be stronger. Thanks.

Mount And Blade The Wedding Guest

Good Merry Christmas 2007 Easter 2008

ELE ESTA DE NO Meio NOS!
(He, the Lord, is already among us!)

is the liturgical response, the Brazilian translation of the missal, which gives the Christian people in every celebration to greet the President ("The Lord be with you"). It `s Easter message that the people of God receives and gives. You wish, and at the same time, consciousness of a reality that motivates our life, our mission, our joy.
There are a lot of news in recent months have welcomed the life of our mission in Sao Luis:

PEOPLE:
- The arrival of Don Horatio Bellomi (from João Pessoa, where the mission in which they operated priests Verona after 16 years of service was entrusted to the priests in Brazil) is to enrich our team of priests (we are now 4: Luca, Daniele, Claudio and Horace). His presence and actions have already begun with generosity, especially from a focus on the poorest and most marginalized people. He is currently visiting the family of a very poor area of the parish where you suffer daily from hunger.
- The arrival of three sisters from an Institute of Polish origin, sr. Inviolate, sr. Doris and sr. Rosinilda has made it possible for the religious charism in our parish and it is certainly a sign of witness and service that people have now received with enthusiasm.
- This year's seminar in São Luís sends us every Saturday and Sunday pastoral experience in three seminarians in philosophy and theology: it is a stimulus for us priests to renew the enthusiasm of our vocation and responsibility of a deeper relationship with the diocese in which we serve.

EVENTS:
- On January 6, we celebrated the third anniversary of the birth of the Holy Trinity Parish. Also present were our dear friends Don and Don Giuseppe Mario Sulmona Pizzoli a pastoral visit.
- On the same occasion we presented to the community, the sisters and members of the Foundation legally recognized "Justice and Peace embrace" (JPA), which is beginning to coordinate all the social projects the parish (project "families Solidario" with sponsorships and activities to learn to help themselves; project PEO education and guidance to strengthen the academic and social abilities of children; project "Capoeira" to educate adolescents and young people in activities of dance-non-violent struggle; project "bakery" that allows you to learn the culinary arts and provide employment opportunities, the project of "Courses for Young Professionals" of various health education projects, to help people in trouble, more and more when possible, in collaboration with local government).
- At the end of January there Training for the week was the catechists and promoters of the parish, with the participation of more than 70 people. The theme this year was the Eucharist.
- In early February we priests have participated in Manaus, in the middle of the Amazon, to 'meet Italian missionaries in Brazil. It was also the Vicar General of the diocese of Verona: Don Giuseppe Pellegrini. The theme was, of course, seeing the place, "the link between nature and mission."
- In mid-February: Spiritual Exercises for all the priests of our Diocese of São Luís and the beginning of the pastoral, which practically begins with Lent here.
- At the end of February: the welcome visit of some Italians including my brother Agostino and his brother Don Daniel, Gabriel.
- These days, the Bishop of São Luís, at the instigation of the bishop and the Mission Center in Verona, established the first community of priests in the history of this diocese, and it is our company of priests. The official institution does not add anything to what already was in practice, but creates a sign for the priests and the people here and a confirmation for the people following us from Italy.

a little reflection: The missionary experience constantly asks me about what it means to be "missionaries". The Aparecida document for Latin America, taking the words of Pope Benedict XVI that "the Church is not to proselytize but to expand attraction and living the fraternity" leads me to a path of communion with the Church proclaiming the joy of faith. The joy seems to be the main feature of the mission of Christ by what transpires in the document of Aparecida. The many different characteristics, opportunities and challenges of each person and the people I teach every day to stop in wonder, as a fellow traveler (remembering the Synod of Verona), in front of the eyes and hearts of children, youth, mothers and dad, grandparents and older people, people known and unknown, to hear their stories, their hopes and their, sometimes disappointments. I only remember a statistic the University of this city: the majority of children in São Luís are recorded to the registry with only the mother's name without his father's name, and this creates a series of moral consequences, economic, psychological and social.
dialogue and exchange of experience becomes an opportunity to receive and announce a hope that many times is not made of words but only the presence of some small gesture of sympathy and solidarity in the vast sea of needs.
'He, the Lord is already among us! "The example of the Risen Lord opens for us the way of the mission, and reminds us that in every face is the Jesuit missionary, who has many things to say.

AND 'TIME BUDGETS: In recent months, the recommendations for economic affairs of the parishes are struggling with budget flights last year. The budget statement is a small but significant sign of justice and transparency to all those who through their generosity support the mission of the Church.
We also send each month at the Diocesan Missionary Centre of Verona and the Diocese of São Luís the economic balance of our mission and our parish. In each of our parish community there are one or more people who take care of the economy, have the budget to the Community Council and hang attendees at the church door. The nice thing is that often these people know just write!

HAPPY EASTER!: good life and the hope that simply sending you thank you very much for everything!
The certainty of your company every day in prayer always makes me more happy and confident. Thanks!

Bem-Vindo (= Welcome!)
E 'the greeting at every corner you receive when you arrive in Brazil. It 's the sign of hospitality in Brazil. And 'I hope that my colleagues in the mission, and Rev. Don Daniel Soardo Luca Mainenti and our parish community Holy Trinity in São Luís, turn to the Lord Jesus is among us at Christmas and all the people who know how to recognize heart with simple and poor. "Bem-Vindo" Lord Jesus in the homes and hearts of all friends, relatives and acquaintances who live in Italy. Bem-vindo here in Brazil, where many homes of our parish resemble the hut where you have willed to be born 2000 years ago. Here, too, are animals (dogs, cats, horses, donkeys, mosquitoes, parrots, butterflies, ...) that make you company. You can find a father often drunk and violent, but often there is not even that, are certainly a mother who besides you has many other children to look after. But the joy of brothers and sisters will certainly make you feel "at home".
When we talk of Christmas you think of many situations of poverty and multiply solidarity actions all over the world and also close to our house.
The Latin American Church that we might call an "expert in poverty" because of obvious situations caused by inequality and injustice, has developed a theological and pastoral reflection that can help all the churches and people of good will in its turn a little mentality and way of living the faith.
I have in my hands the "Document of Aparecida, the result of the Conference of Latin American and American Churches Central, with the Pope, have reflected and paved the way for the coming years.
The document speaks, as in previous documents, the 'preferential option for the poor. " The preferential option for the poor is a key issue to define here in Latin America, but not limited to church models. In the document, you can see two trends: • The first
: see the poor as objects of mercy, help, care, concern. According to this view there will be a dynamic service (give more time to the poor, help them in their immediate needs, lifestyle change many times bourgeois of bishops, priests and religious, lay Christians) looking to arrive, from the concrete situations of poverty, a transformation of reality. (No. 397).
• The second: to see the poor as new entrants emerging from a situation of injustice, intolerance, social and economic inequality that cries to heaven. According to this view will have a dynamic of solidarity and prophecy as an attitude of lifelong friendship, brotherhood and service, expressed in a constant accompaniment to "their effort" emancipation. (No. 398).
There is "another world is possible" and the presence of the Lord Jesus among the poor of yesterday and today is the reason for our hope. "Bem-Vindo" Lord Jesus!

'M LEARNING:
• Liturgy: I am discovering the importance of the introduction to the mass and the notices are made by parish lay leaders of the community is immediately apparent that the community and its activities are not dependent on priest ...
• Audience: In each group is essential, and "normal" use of the Bible ....
• Charity: Here you say especially with the parishes "tenth" is the tenth part of their income that many people give freely to their community. A lot less damage. Some give more. But the important is the idea, born of the Jewish biblical tradition, to give a fixed part of what one earns for the needs of the church and for charity. E 'moving to see this widespread practice among the poor and see some old people who receive their pension on time just 10% to bring the leaders of the community to the needs of the parish.

NEWS continue our pastoral and social action in this parish in the suburbs, divided into six communities, each with its own chapel, your Community Board and a calendar packed with more activities.
A special greeting to the new director of the Mission Center in Verona, Don Giuseppe Pizzoli the next will be Jan. 3 to visit with Don Mario Sulmona.
We live with the constant provocation of many churches "evangelical-pentecostal" are born, die and rise like mushrooms in every corner, many people are desperate for an answer "miraculous and immediate" and especially for many young people as "a new fashion bourgeois" (although there are often behind economic and political interests to appease the ambitions of Justice) and is a daily challenge for us to announce a consistent and try to go way ecumenical seem impossible. The day of Pentecost in 2007 our parish has been a meeting with representatives of various associations and various churches on the theme of violence and security in our neighborhood. It could be a sign that we can and we must meet on the concrete problems of the people.
The public authority seems absent. Unfortunately most people are waiting in vain for the proposed series of true justice.
addition to the new site of the Mission Center in Verona: "www.cmdverona.it" we have a website for more information and photos on our mission in Italian and Portuguese: "www.aquiloneverona.org that youth of Soave, together with Giuliana we have prepared.
Yet, despite everything, very moving: there is enthusiasm and hope for change. Some of our parishioners are already beginning to trust us "foreign missionaries." Here the emotion is evident: it often happens that people in the confessions and cry when we are thankful for the social projects I've seen more than a few mom cry of joy. I place these tears of sorrow and hope, along with the smiles of children, in the heart of the Lord and in the heart of all the people out there that are very, very close. All my best wishes for Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Christian Phrase To Write In Sympathy Card

Happy Easter 2007!

Pascoe Feliz!
(Happy Easter!)
I'm back in the Mission. After two months spent in Italy (February and March) have returned just in time for Holy Week. The time spent in Italy is spent quickly. At first I attended the commitments related to the Conference of the Missionaries of Verona "Fidei Donum" encyclical 50 years that the diocese also opened (and not just religious) the Church's missionary thrust. It 'been a time of testing and awareness of the entire diocese in the hope that, as the final document of the Conference, the "Fidei Donum," priests and lay people around the world are a small but significant "sign of the collegiality of the Church ": that the churches of Europe, Asia, Africa, the Americas and Oceania can learn to" walk together "in respecting diversity and in the one faith. After the Missionary Conference
I could accompany my father in the last days of his life. He ill for several years, by special design of Providence, has been waiting for you to come to spend the last moments together. Potergli asked me to administer the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick. After his departure a few days I stayed with her mother and then I returned to Brazil in time for Easter celebrations.
While I thank all of the attention, gestures of solidarity and prayers, especially during the funeral of his father, forgive me if I could not be present as I wished, but in the end, even here, in front of so many things that we would to do, I think the important thing is not to do anything but "being there" when you can and as you can with zeal but without anxiety, without blaming others for what they do not, be in a meaningful way to help us with discover in every situation, reasons for hope that the Lord has truly sown everywhere.
especially thank the fellow priests for signals sharing the common mission and priestly fraternity aware that among so many old and new problems of the post-Pentecost Easter is always the foundation of the joy of announcing the possibility of the Vita Nuova.
While I was in Italy I took part willingly to put together some Brazilian residents in our diocese of Verona, who meet every second Sunday of the month in Peschiera. There I had the joy of baptizing the baby Antony.
They have expressed their intention to donate their Lenten offerings for our mission. I believe that in the midst of many difficulties that immigrants in Italy are experiencing the fact that Brazilians get involved in other Brazilians in need is truly significant.
In our Diocese of São Luís a Brazilian priest offered his availability to travel to Mozambique in Africa as a "fidei donum". It 's the first in the history of the entire state of Maranhão. Unfortunately
among the hopeful signs there are also reasons of sadness: Holy Thursday has died in a car accident teenager altar of the parish, full of life and joy. What saddens me and makes me a bit 'angry is the reason of the accident: the asphalt was wrong, as is often the roads here, in a national road with heavy traffic, has caused the overturning of the bus which was traveling with Joan his family. As usual, public expenditures are directed to the parties that the social work and public utilities.
While I extend to each and all best wishes for a life of Easter, I invite you to send me some suggestions about the daily life and the Church: in particular with respect to the path of implementation of the Synod of the Church of Verona, the reception of the sacraments, the priorities in your families and communities, some young people experience significant. Thanks!

The Pope comes to visit!
In mid-May, Pope Benedict XVI will be in Brazil and will begin the work of the Fifth General Conference of Latin America and the Caribbean, after those of Rio de Janeiro (1955), Medellín (Colombia, 1968) Puebla (Mexico, 1979) and Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic, 1992). The National Shrine of Brazil Nossa Senhora Aparecida "there will be representatives of 22 episcopal conferences of Latin America and the Caribbean, some Representatives of the Episcopal Council of Europe, Asia and Africa, religious, priests, lay people, deacons, theologians and observers from non-Catholic Christian churches and other religions (around 280 people).
Bishop Odilo Pedro Scherer, secretary-general of the CNBB (General Conference of Bishops of Brazil) presents the event as historical and ecclesial situation in the current Brazilian (but maybe that has nothing in common with our Italian and European).

"After the Conference de Santo Domingo 15 years ago, the great social and cultural changes have led to new pressures to the mission of the Church in Latin America. The effects of globalization be seen everywhere. Urbanization has increased and the problems of large urban concentrations have increased. Certainly there was an economic improvement, but the distribution for all the opportunities and income still remains a dream for most people. Emigration from our continent is a significant problem today, not devoid of suffering and humiliation. Violence is part of everyday life and is helped by the absence of the state and from insufficient political series. Big business, operated by criminal organizations, thrive on the side of the company, generating confidence in the rule of law.
Times have changed for the Church. It is not more political repression to call in question, to defend human rights and democratic freedoms. Today it faces far more profound questions about the ethics of life and the person, the right of the poor and small, not to succumb to the logic of the market, and the participation of all the common good. The conservation of the environment and the future of life on the planet require global solidarity and a change of lifestyle and economic organization. New questions ask for discernment and moral stances. Anxiety, well justified, to solve the problems of poverty and health of the population and the project is very understandable, to assert the individual rights can not be tempted to pass over the fundamental rights and universal, such as human dignity, justice and full respect for human life.
Unfortunately, religion can be reduced to the logic of the market and interest, by offering products for individual satisfaction. The mobility of religion is a complex phenomenon which concerns not only the Catholic Church. The new religious proposals, followed by many, require new skills in the exercise of discernment and mission of the Church.
These and many other issues will be addressed in this conference. It will be a great opportunity to check on the Church's presence among the peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean. It wants to "hear the voice of God at this time." Dad will be in Brazil to "confirm his brethren in faith", according to its mission (Luke 22:32) and to encourage them to participate in building society, according to the values of the Christian faith. "

Merry Christmas 2006!

Or is this familiar? (Family =)
The "Holy Family" of Jesus, Mary and Joseph is a very strange family and at the same time as normal. Mary, pregnant before cohabitation, is very similar to many single mothers who meet frequently in Brazil. Here it seems that the conception of motherhood priority and is independent of the concept of the family. Certainly history has left deep scars in the Brazilian way of living certain values. But today, in a world that is increasingly becoming a "village common, the different conceptions of life become for all questions and provocations. Certainly it is true that there is a family like any other, "the proclamation of the Holy Family Christmas" provokes us to place all of our family experiences, or pseudo-family community in the light of God's plan, the fecundity of Holy Spirit, who always creates new life and concrete communion and often silent when Joseph, Mary's husband, is a sign.
Life the Christian community can find here the size of its "mission family" is a project of God which surpasses the family experience and at the same time it involves. There is a
creativity of the Holy Spirit that goes beyond our expectations, but who employs our hands.
There is a brave, happy and hard, continuous and fair, free and conscious way of communion that goes beyond the simple unity or uniformity that arises in the prophetic line of love.
Merry Christmas to the mothers, dads, children, grandparents, uncles, friends ... and to the communities who walk every day to Bethlehem!

WHAT HAPPENS IN VERONA? There are countless facts, experiences, encounters that leave every day my missionary experience astonished and amazed. Only a few examples:
1) happens to see some teenagers who are the celebrations in the church by taking home the Bible, the hymnal and the inevitable phone.
2) During a "festival" ever see in the chapel of the community some people singing religious songs and pray with great devotion. Outside mega plants that deafen with rhythmic music, people dancing and drinking beer. All living with a respect for diversity that is disarming and inconceivable for us Westerners accustomed to not ever mix things.
3) happens to see Jesus' crib with 2 or 3 children, 2 or 3 Madonnas, made with poor materials (remnants of dolls, and rags), all causes to recognize that the Nativity in which we are engaged, full of confusion, but so much joy. Verona
And what happens? How is continuing the journey begun with the Synod? From the information that I arrive there seems to be a period of "stagnation". Someone justified by the announcement made by the Bishop. But how?! Just because the bishop said something that everyone already knew, namely that in 75 years, as all bishops and priests should resign, it hangs on "design together" and live in the 'waiting' as a perennial "Advent"?
A Church that does not find the courage to renew itself in light of the Gospel, as the Synod has designed, can not claim to present themselves before the world today with the hope of renewing society. The world today, especially the poor, ask us first of all, the ability to renew ourselves to be faithful to the Gospel and to humanity today, both in terms of ecclesial structures, both on a personal level.
In the Diocese of São Luís and in our parish, in the midst of many contradictions, they are trying to program the 2007 (here the pastoral year runs from January to December). Have taken place in recent months: the Assembly of the Diocese, Vicariate of the Assembly, the Assembly Parish (which we called "Synod of the Community Council") always with the presence of all the priests involved, secular and religious movements and associations. In our parish, diocesan and walk in the light of the vicar, for 2007 we have identified two emerging social problems: the problem of basic health and safety problem. We have chosen three ways to tackle these problems: the "training" in light of the Word of God and the Church's social doctrine, the "pastoral plan" for a share of the problems within the joint responsibility of all church groups, the attempt to walk "together with public and private "in the neighborhood and the city. Certainly the daily pastoral reality is more complicated big words and pastoral projects, but we are aware that offering a sign of the joint is already a step and a witness of the evangelical community.
Reflection
Masserdotti
Bishop Franco, the diocese of Brescia,
hit by a car in his city and diocese of Balsas, Maranhão, while cycling:
"I remember when for the first time I left my country of origin come to Brazil. It was a boat trip of 12 days. I was very excited and spiritually motivated to proclaim Jesus Christ to the people Brazilian. But when the ship sailed into Guanabara Bay and saw from afar the beautiful city of Rio de Janeiro, I was impressed, admiring on the hill of Corcovado, the famous Christ the Redeemer with open arms. Now I thought - I come to proclaim Jesus Christ, but He already came here before me and waiting with open arms
.- The missionaries are "bees" of Jesus looking at the flowers and all the people in 'meeting to receive the pollen work with others, in favor of life. It 's a work of great patience and loving presence, which could give a thousand different flavors, allowing us to experience the infinite sweetness of the meeting with the God of Life acting in all people.
To develop this vocation, the missionaries need to recognize that Christianity is a multicultural experience that requires a continuous effort of inculturation of the Gospel. They, without losing its own identity and the duty of the ad, must remain open to the wonders that God achieved in all cultures and religions, with no barriers between the mystery of Christ and the action of the Spirit outside the Church. The Christian identity is an identity relationship. ".

Merry Christmas and Goodbye with Verona in Italy! The Diocese of Verona has organized for the month of February, the 50th of the document "Fidei Donum," which marked the beginning of the missionary diocese level, a meeting of all the missionaries in our city of Verona for a discount and a re-launch missionary.

Blueprints For Making A Bench

"Estamos Chega!"
("We're coming!")

It 's a typical phrase, much used in Brazil, which indicates, together with the imprecision of "when", the hope of to a state of prosperity and security of life that now seems attainable, but whose goal moves further and further. In
greet and thank all friends and everyone in particular, I think that might be useful to describe, in general, how life is organized in the parish of Holy Trinity in the city of São Luís, Maranhão State, North East Brazil.
The inhabitants of the parish (about 60,000) have occupied the "Olympic City" in 1996, the territory is located on the outskirts of the city and therefore the people for the work and services must move (45 minutes by bus) to reach the center of São Luís. The neighborhood he lives all the problems of a precarious situation: cultural and economic poverty, lack of sense of belonging to the territory, lack of certain perspectives, health problems and violence ... but also want to build a new life, young age and mentality, patience, faith in God ... There is a multitude of Protestant churches, especially Pentecostal.
Our parish, made up of 6 communities, its main objective: to build a sense of community in a spirit of autonomy and responsibility, focusing on the formation of catechists and promoters. It seeks to achieve by working together, as far as possible, with neighboring parishes and unity with the diocese, in a climate of continuous "experimentation" and "verification" and with the enthusiasm of the beginning. It 's really amazing to see how the mission of the priest is not here is so "totalitarian" as in Italy and at the same time is so "necessary."
Organization: Every priest follows two communities in particular, but everything is shared!

• Education and Catechesis : each of the six Community holds a monthly meeting for Bible study, weekly training of Christian and sacramental preparation, training for different groups. At the parish level is for the training of catechists and promoters of individual communities and training of parish groups. We also help some people to study theology and to participate in training courses diocesan and national levels.

• Liturgy : You try, when possible, to celebrate the festive Mass, Liturgy of the Word or at least a self-managed, in each of the 6 communities. It enhances the community celebration of the sacraments, including marriage.
weekdays sometimes there is the Mass, Eucharistic adoration at other times or the Rosary or a penitential celebration with Mass or Confessions on the road, or the Council of the Community or visits to families ...

• Charity and Social Activities: There are several projects funded by Italian institutions (8 x thousand, Medicus Mundi, Verona parishes) in collaboration with Local Authorities, but also supported by the work and the offerings of Parishioners: Formation of the "Women multiplied" basic knowledge about health and family life, Familias Solidarias (= aid to families with children under 12 years without income: it provides a "Basic Basket" monthly (basic foods) and calls for service in the community: clean rooms, churches, halls, gardens, community garden and offers the possibility of professionalism in order to have a source of income (sewing, cross-stitch, cloth production, production of vegetables) , Pastoral da Criança with periodic visits to health care for children and pregnant women, school assistance, etc..
There are other projects under preparation: a Centre for Professional Bakers
, Training Microeconomics domestic and professional training to the Rights and Duties ...

Behind these projects, there are so many people, like our Giuliana, in Verona, Italy by the paper work and provides good part of the required funds without getting tired of knocking on every door. • Construction

since 2005, when they arrived, and Don Don Luca Daniel, has built a new house-Canonica, beautiful, simple and cozy and it has been built the new Parish Centre "Federico Aldrighetti" It is designed and equipped the parish office, has arranged the main church; For every community you're trying to give some basic structures needed: a church with decent frames functional borders, bathroom, meeting room ... I just started work on a new building multifunctional, according to current needs probably become a center of spirituality.

• Besides all these activities of the parish, Father Luke has made considerable efforts in the prison ministry at the diocesan level, Don Daniel attended a refresher course in the university four mornings a week and once a week by a radio broadcast and I'm going to perfect the language to class one morning each week and taking advantage of several opportunities to speak with people.

The climate in the parish house and rectory is peaceful and there is always room to pray, reflect, study, play, welcome people celebrate without getting caught up in a hurry ... I think the priestly fraternity really help us to build something that is not just our doing, but because it is something that comes in the fraternity, is the "work of God."
two simple experiences to reflect :

• There are still many houses of straw and mud, though now most are now of brick, plastered and without doors (sometimes instead of doors there are tents) . The services are outside the house and there are no sewers. The power is there if you pay the bill. All have at least a small TV. One day later in a house inhabited by her husband, wife and three children. I see a little room with two beds and wonder: "This is the children's room?" The mother looks at me with a smile of "compassion" and says, "Oh no! We all slept in this room! "

• 15 and 16 July: Pilgrimage of the Diocese of Zé Doca in Maranhão, a city of the interior, to reflect and pray over the issues of Earth and Water. Let's start with a coach paid for 2 / 3 by Italian soldiers, to facilitate the participation of the people. The road seems rally, full of potholes and bumpy. After 6 hours of travel we arrive, after lunch, everyone had brought, and a shower, organized by the usual knowledge of Italian (the Sisters of the Holy Family), it is the providence of cooking dinner for another group that had not arrived. And thank goodness, because money in the pockets of our parishioners there were none. All night, from 8 pm to 10 am was held in thoughts, prayers, singing, walking, mass. A wealth of unique content, but also a considerable physical and mental effort. On the return trip, stop autogrill, seeing that some do not buy anything to eat or not much, the temptation to offer " was strong. A series of reflections are at once entered my head: I have to play the part of foreigners that has a lot of money and pay for all? Should I hide and eat alone? I have to offer just a few? Eventually I bought a little something to eat for me and I got a bit 'of sweets and biscuits for all, how do you even in Italy tours. I do not know if I did good or bad, but certainly coexist with poverty directly helps convert some 'his life! Thank God!

"Tudo Bem? Tudo Bem " (Typical Brazilian phrase always used in the greetings)

Greetings from Sao Luis and thanks to many people in so many ways I have indicated their friendship and have supported me with prayer. After three months, especially dedicated to "listen" and groped to learn the language I'm beginning to take its first steps in the community. Luckily, Don and Don Luca Daniel accompanied me so patiently. Day after day I realize that words have a story behind that one word in the dictionary that has meaning for other people assume or assume different shades. So write this letter in Italian becomes increasingly difficult because I do not know the value that the words have for you today (even if little time has passed since my departure from Italy). Who knows how many stories, events have happened in your families and in your-our Christian community and I, not knowing, I can hardly bear them in mind in the words used in this letter. But when you listen to and talk with the heart than even what you do not know completely.
I think will be useful, before speaking of actuality of my experience here in Brazil, learn a bit 'of Brazilian history. Brazil is already inhabited by about 30,000 years. With the discovery of America began the period of colonization by Portugal in particular, but also from Spain, France, Holland, ... In previous centuries there was the sad phenomenon of the "slave trade" from Africa. Then there was the phenomenon of immigration. Brazil is thus presented as the synthesis of many different peoples with their cultures, religions, stories, mostly Indians, Portuguese and African. The phenomenon of colonization ended with independence from a particular state (Portugal), but almost went with another dependence on multinationals from other countries. So the abolition of slavery resulted in the abandonment of practice most people under the new slavery of unemployment, homeless and landless. In recent times, Brazil is experiencing economic growth, owing mainly to very low wages and exploitation of raw materials. But the abysmal social inequalities are very few people have much and many things have not sufficient for a dignified life. (Example: in our neighborhood, many families are struggling to obtain even water). In recent decades there has been added to urbanization: people move from the countryside on the outskirts of the city in search of a mirage of life and deals with the desperate often uncultivated land of large estates.
Which brings us to the history of our parish in the summer of 1996 while in Atlanta (United States) were in the Olympics, on the outskirts of Sao Luis was held an extraordinary event for the large number of people involved: about 15,000 families (from many situations of poverty within) occupied an area belonging to a local firm fallow. After months of struggle, destruction of buildings and sheds, struggles with the police, legal wrangles, in the early months of 1997 came to an agreement: the government of the Maranao, one of 27 states that make up Brazil, where in fact is the capital city of this state, Sao Luis, expropriated the land and gave the occupants divided into batches of 10 to 20 meters. The families won the right way (which is worth an Olympic medal) for a place to build your own home. The area was therefore called the Olympic City. The district now has 60,000 people. The pastoral responsibility
the new district was first entrusted to the nearby parish where he operates the Institute "Don Calabria" and later became an autonomous parish consists of six communities: Holy Trinity, Saint Lucia, Saint Anne, the Merciful Jesus, Divine Spirit and Assumption. Since late 1994, the parish is entrusted to the diocese of Verona.
In reality there are many other Christian communities Protestants (Pentecostals) in the area.
You can imagine the problems a different neighborhood so include: difficulties adapting to the city for people used to live in the country, health problems, school, work, etc.. How
Christian community try to live and witness the Gospel nell'assistenzialismo trying not to fall but focusing mainly on training that can provide employment opportunities or at least a sense of dignity. On the various parish projects, as well as on many other things, maybe I'll be more precise in the next episodes.
Let me give a special greeting to my fellow priestly ordination on 25 May 1985 and their families.

Prayer to Our Lady

how beautiful your name or Mary Cantando life much joy!
In your name, the name of each woman, that life is always God's will

how beautiful your face or Mary; peace and tenderness, light shines!
In your eyes, every young person can see the certainty of the future, reborn!

How beautiful are thy hands, O Mary, open door of the guide star, which is Jesus!
A hand to comfort the crying and the other to encourage those who are struggling!

How beautiful are thy feet, O Mary, descend from the mountains, peace ads!
most faithful companion of my people in the paths of tomorrow, a new world.

How beautiful your belly, or Mary, which bears the fruit of prophecy.
Who is faithful to the love in life, is a prophet of God Emmanuel

their relatives, friends,
the Church of God in Verona,
and all people who have the patience to read this simple

attempt to "listen" to the Brazilian reality
from new missionary.

Graças a Deus!

"Graças a Deus" = "Thank God": the phrase is typical of the Brazilian people who thus manifests his way of conceiving life, in the midst of a lot of contradictions, but especially with trust in God that covers the skin from every corner of life.
I arrived in Brazil January 27, 2006 together with the Bishop Verona father Flavio Roberto Carraro, with Don Mario Sulmona (which Veronese years following the missionaries in all parts of the world), Don Ottavio Todeschini (director of the Mission Centre), Ezio Falavegna Don (former secretary general of the Synod), and Silvia Chiara (journalist and cameraman of "Light of the World") and spiritually with you all.
sit on the plane, in this first missionary journey, alongside our bishop, and feel a part of the deep ocean and the sky and the other for your prayers, inviting me to look ahead, it was just a beautiful Missionary Baptism.
arrived late at night in the city of Fortaleza, with interior lights turned off for the plane be able to see the magic of the lights on the ground, I immediately had the perception Brazilian hospitality.
In Fortaleza I was with the entire delegation for 2 days together with the community, "Regina Pacis" and other reality and not Verona. I could appreciate the wonderful work of many missionaries who are moving with great difficulty, but also with many helps and friendships. Especially in Fortaleza I took note of an attempt to deep between different ecclesial communion in a large piece of land called "condominium" (consisting of groups and movements, institutions of seclusion, and attention from volunteers with different powers). This "building" (not a skyscraper but a series of nearby houses with green areas) is in the middle of the edge of town, near the airport, and is then immersed in the reality of the people, but at the same time is also a sign of ecclesial communion.
visit with the bishop and some Favelas some realities of marginalization of Fortaleza asked me a series of questions about why most people in the world has to live like that and showed me the path of the missionary journey of the Church to be a small concrete sign of hope, a hope that can only come from us.
On January 29 I arrived in São Luis and immediately began the work of the Conference of Missionaries in Latin America. There were about sixty and we have worked hard putting together the wide variety of backgrounds, but all significant.
reports on the conference can be found on the site of the Diocese of Verona "in" Mission Center. " On 4 March at 20.30 at the CMU (Massimo S. seminar) will be presented a DVD of the conference and the visit of the Bishop in Brazil.
So I started with a week of real school of mission and missionary fraternity, together with his friend Franco Falconi (former co-pastor of pastoral Valdadige unit and now a missionary in Cuba).
On February 2, together with all the missionaries and the Bishop went for the first time in the parish of Holy Trinity together with the communities where we celebrated the Feast of the Presentation of Jesus in the Temple. At the end of Mass, the bishop called me for a short greeting (the first words wrong and the little microphone that worked) and then announced the official start of my ministry for the following Sunday.

Sunday, February 5, in the parish church in the presence of the community gathered for the occasion in a "single mass", the Bishop of São Luis, our Bishop of Verona, the missionaries left for a few days after the end of the Congress ( including the beloved Don Franco) have officially signed the agreement between the Church of Verona and the São Luis for this "adoption" the parish "Holy Trinity". In the end there was my official greeting in which I invoked God's mercy and patience to Don and Don Luca Daniel and the entire community to accompany my service in Brazil. Everything, it seems, was held without a "big mistake". Eventually many of these went to the opening of a community center run by the Sisters of the Holy Family, on the border of the territory of our parish, the parish in the task of the Don Calabria. This center, built largely with money 8 per thousand of the Italian Church, will be a reference to many family and medical nutritional the area.
And so began my (nostra!) adventure in Brazil. I'm living the first days in the attitude of every fundamental change the parish priest: This is the attitude of the audience, due in part to learn the language (very different from the books) but mainly by the need to understand such a complex reality and contradictory, so full of wealth and poverty, both material and spiritual and moral. The play, first attitude shown by our Synod, becomes the beginning of my service here, a style which I hope will take me forever. Already begin to realize what was important pastoral experience lived in the unit above the Adige Valley and in the pastoral community of priests.
Currently there are logistical problems and health: Don Luca Daniel and Don have made to build a new parsonage house and organized the problems of accommodation and meals as well as possible here.
For the moment I listen to and then later I'll tell you something more precise about the reality around me and in which God works wonders.
Sincere thanks to everyone for the many gestures and expressions of friendship. God bless your hearts! The first e-mail that I found in Brazil had attached the ultrasound picture of the child being born to Christian and Federica. Thanks!

ABOUT CARNIVAL! You can not help but speak in these days of Carnival in Brazil. I do not have the competence nor the space for long disquisitions on the meaning of carnival. Just try to say something. Usually the carnival and its meaning in Italy as in Brazil, is associated with the excesses of Carnival Events: escape from reality, irony on the events and people, unbridled fun, vent masked the problems of life .... It seems that the carnival has become a way of thinking and facing life without too rational, continuous action, firm commitments, ... They are all real things!
But, perhaps, Brazil, with its cult of body and embodiment (expressed both in religion and in daily life) reminds me that "the meat is," not only rationality, not just the spirit. If God sent his Son to "incarnate" If Jesus Christ is risen with his real body, I think if Christians proclaim the resurrection of the body, probably the carnival can be a real "anthropological departure" of the Lenten journey, from which can not be ignored if you want to be respectful of the whole human person loved by God fully the consequences of these considerations could be: to live the carnival, not as a concealment of something but as a revelation of an identity profound and original, respect and value the many expressions of the embodiment in everyday life and religious, to promote those moral choices that lead to the promotion of the human person, his health and inner and outer beauty, ... Certainly no one can stop the embodiment but only if they can do without, because it is part of our lives and is loved by God and Happy Carnival Happy Lent!
Hello everyone!

Immanuel Kant

As I described in a previous article, my books or authors do not have a precise timeframe. From Horace to Imanuel Kant. I was reading this book is the author who will write below struck me most.
His sentence is its quintessential "the starry heavens above me The moral law within me." He has also written other books, such as "What is orientation in thinking." I remember this title 'cause I decided to give it to a friend who definitely will appreciate it.
I hope that in addition to her, to be appreciated by those who read it.

Immanuel Kant (April 22, 1724 - February 12, 1804) was a German philosopher

was one of the most important exponents of German Enlightenment, and forward - at the final stage of his speculation - the building blocks of the idealistic philosophy

In the opinion of many, one of the main merits of the Kantian doctrine is to have passed the operating dogmatic metaphysics a philosophical revolution through a critique of reason that determines the conditions and limits of human cognitive abilities in theoretical and practical aesthetic

The Critique of Pure Reason published in 1781, defines the method of philosophizing to which Kant will stick even in two later works as well as in other later works. His work as a thinker mainly concerns the epistemology ethics and art in his youth but was also scientific interests, which he cultivated until 1760

cosmogonic hypothesis of the primitive nebula, shown in 1755 in Universal History of Nature and Theory of Heaven (which he desunse by Buffon ), had much luck and gave him fame in the field of astronomy, it was taken over by the Laplace reworked and relaunched in 1796

Works:

" 's warning that it was David Hume who, many years ago, the first I awoke from his dogmatic slumber and gave quite a different address to my research in the field of speculative philosophy "

The fundamental works of Kant are in the period so-called "critical" (from 1771 to 1790): The Critique of Pure Reason (1781), the Critique of Practical Reason (1788) and Critique of Judgement (1790), preceded by a considerable number of minor works at a young age. Following Kant is increasingly oriented toward the interests of theological and this time are two major works of his mature thought: Religion within the Limits of Reason Alone , 1793, and The Metaphysics of Morals, 1797. Followed in 1798 Anthropology from a pragmatic point of view and other minor works.

The pre-critical stage:

Kant's philosophy can be divided in two main phases: the pre-critical period defined, which extends to the "great light" of 1769 preparatory to the publication of Dissertatio in 1770 and the critical period, extending from Dissertatio until death and in particular sees the publication of three critical, namely Critique of Pure Reason the Critique of Practical Reason and Critique of Judgement .

During the pre-critical Kant maintains that philosophy oscillates between rationalism and empiricism of Hume, to the famous Copernican revolution, as he called it, which will open a new era in philosophy. In 1770 it publishes the dissertation De mundi sensibilis atque intellegibilis et principiis form, commonly called only Dissertation , that reveals the first original developments in the new Kantian critical philosophy. The Dissertation therefore marks a milestone for the development of his thought, and can be seen as a sort of bridge between the old and the new philosophy of Kant's critical philosophy that fully outline, twelve years later, with the Critique of Pure Reason in 1781

Critique of Pure Reason

" Human reason, without the sting of simple vanity omniscience, is perpetually driven by a need to precisely those problems that can in no way be solved by an empirical use of reason ... and so all men in some metaphysics has always existed and will always exist, just that reason rise up for speculation "

( Immanuel Kant, Critique of Pure Reason 1781 )

The main theme of Kant's Critique of Pure Reason is and knowledge of the correlation existing between metaphysics and science. The questions that arise are possible as are mathematics and physics as a science and metaphysics as a natural disposition and as a science.

rating corresponds to Kant union of a predicate and a person using a copula, thus distinguishes the analytic judgments a priori synthetic judgments a posteriori and synthetic judgments a priori.

rating synthetic rear

In summary analysis, so called because you can say in summary in union with the experience, the connection between subject and predicate is thought "without identity ": the predicate contains something new which is not included in the concept of the subject, as in" Some bodies are heavy. "In fact, some other light bodies are heavy. Remember that the example goes back to Kant for Aristotale which some bodies - land and water - are by nature heavy, while others - air and fire - are by nature light. The predicate in the summary analysis, is related to the subject under experiment, synthetic judgments are therefore to back, we can only say after this experience and being connected to the sensitivity does not have universality and necessity, but have extensive knowledge. This is the type of opinion used by empiricists.

rating

The synthetic a priori synthetic judgments a priori is an opinion that, while extending knowledge, because it adds something new in the predicate, which in this case is not implicit in the subject (as in the analytical judgments) has the characteristics of universality and necessity, because it comes from experience (it is a priori).

The Kantian example of 7 plus 5 equal 12 shows how the predicate (twelve) is not included as analytical reviews in the subject, but there is something more: the relationship of addition and that in 5 to 7 outlet if they have not. So this review does not depend on the one hand experience, and therefore it is necessary and universal, and secondly in the predicate tells something that was not contained in the subject and then the knowledge is extensive.

The universal validity and certainty that characterize the synthetic judgments a priori fact, stem from the possibility of the intellect to "come out a priori from the concept" pure intuition, turning through the "guide" a middle term, ie the produced from the transcendental schema. That is, when you move from a concept to an intuition for a synthetic a priori judgments necessary to establish a relationship with the shape of the external sense (pure space) by the inner sense (pure time) through the intellectually self-determined identity of apperception.

The synthetic judgments a priori are the foundations upon which the science because they increase the knowledge (as synthetic), but need not be re-elected every time because they are universal and necessary experience. In this case, Kant has a position quite distinct from that of the Scottish philosopher Hume as being empiricist, would find it necessary every time a confirmation as to his opinion would not be able to say that things might change in future.

Human knowledge

reached this point Kant establishes a new system for determining cognitive whence come the synthetic judgments a priori, if they do not derive from experience. This new theory of knowledge is a synthesis of material (empirical) and form (the rational and innate). The first is the chaotic and ever-changing variety of sense impressions that come from experience. The second is the set of fixed rules by which the human mind to sort these impressions. In this way, the reality does not model itself on our minds, but it is the mind that shapes reality through the forms by which the senses. The reality as it appears on the basis of a priori forms is the phenomenon, while the reality as it is independent from us and it is unknowable to us. This is called the noumenon .

Kant then defines knowledge as that which arises from three faculties: sensibility, intellect and reason. Sensitivity is the ability to perceive the phenomenon and rests on two a priori forms, space and time. The intellect is the faculty by which we think rather sensitive data through pure concepts or categories. The reason is the faculty through which we seek to explain the reality beyond the limits of experience with the three ideas of the soul, God and the world. This tripartite division of the cognitive process consists of the Critique of Pure Reason divided into teaching and learning elements of the method. The first dedicated to studying the three cognitive faculties through the transcendental aesthetic (sensibility) and the transcendental logic, in turn divided into analytic (intellect) and dialectic (reason). The division of

Critique of Pure Reason can be summarized as follows:

ethics and the categorical imperative

Kant distinguishes between hypothetical imperative and categorical imperative. The risk of a utilitarian moral as that which later came the English philosopher Bentham led to seek the foundation of morality in a command unconditionally.

Silhouette of Kant

shown that the reason that claims to speak of unconditional falling inconsistent, contradictory and not a rational foundation of morality should not exclude a conditional imperative. Kant comes to the conclusion that ethics is not fondabile rationally, but that is a categorical imperative that the will should give freely.

The foundation of ethics is the same reason that he founded, the principle of non-contradiction Aristotale discovered that before a logical law, it is an ethical law of the ego. A life in accordance with reason is tantamount to a requirement of consistency that is true in the thought that being. The ego is free to deny this principle, but merely live in world opinion (not rational) and foolishness (unethical).

is not only a free choice, ranging from I to I, Kantian ethics is part philosophical and necessary respect for the deductible as a moral necessity of the other buildings in philosophy, here is prevented by the 'exclusion of conditional statements and not.

Kant part by a desire to demonstrate that the self is linked to ethical standards, which it considers a case that the synthetic a priori reason, therefore, knows and can prove. He wants to prove he was convinced that the self is linked to ethical standards, as it is the paradox of the suffering of the righteous.

not surprising that postulates the existence of a categorical imperative or the voice of conscience, like the Socratic demon that drives worldwide in every individual to respect universal moral rules that result in different actions in different contexts. So the ethical judgments as aesthetic evaluation varies over time depending on the situation, but it is always due in any individual application of universal rules that are acting to right and contemplate the beautiful, without varying from individual to individual: the rules ethical and aesthetic are the same in every individual and also their application: provided that any rational person in the same situation, would have done the same thing and considered beautiful by some.

The reason is the scope of the universality of all judgments, ethical and aesthetic, of putting them into practical acts. The yardstick of the right may vary by no more than a human generation to another, in the sense of the regulations, the basic tenets are general enough to consider them common to human beings of all time and space, any space and transcendental every time.

As you can see the ethical choices and enjoyment of beauty that are traditionally personal matters, are traced to collective principles: Kant never spoke of the ego singular (themselves or others, eg.) When he spoke of ' I transcendental ego is always referred to Duns Scotus on the philosophy remains the limit.

ethics with principles independent of space and time (universal for both) that are implemented in the ego, the ego comes before that, a priori, and you can think of innate immunity. Instead, the application of principles depends on the space and time, the context in which the ego is to act, however, space and time are also transcendental reality, compared to individuals: ethics depends on the space-time only in a universal, common to all (intersubjectively), in dreams, which are a subjective space-time, between different people, everyone is free from ethics to some extent). If the individual does not dominate on this ethic, because the ego is subject to universal principles, even it is dominated, given that I starred in the kingdom of ends where every person is the end of the actions of others.

Confronted with the assertion of human freedom, Kantian ethics has not necessarily found to be acting on the right, has created a context, that of reason, where I entered freely agreed to "be forced "the right to respect certain rules, or risk losing the enjoyment of beauty that is denied to the brutes and a consoling universality of human action.

The categorical imperative in this system is not a postulate fondabile, that perhaps it would be elsewhere, for Kant was first and foremost a matter of fact for the German pietism, the high maternal education which led him to have a strong sense of ethics. Philosophy, however, are its consequences: the idea which is contradictory to reason that controls things that we have to reach, hence the foundation of the freedom of human will:

 • things unattainable, which controls the way that the clashes with the paradox of the suffering of the righteous, and requires an afterlife in which justice among the states I, repaying injustice by blocking the activity of the unjust, reserving the time and freedom to those who have chosen the side of right to live according to justice by which the immortality of the soul;

 • the existence of a God, stronger than the other I put in the role of compensation to the injustices of earth and the wicked to deprive of freedom, preventing the recurrence of abuses that unearthly riproporrebbero the contradiction at infinity, a deity whose action takes place mainly or exclusively in the Hereafter, which is significantly different from the traditional conceptions that never conceived a sort of "otherworldly providence."

Thus, the categorical imperative is a matter of fact, a postulate, a priori synthetic judgments, a command of rationality that is the case because it is universal. The philosophy of history

" Every culture and art, ornament of humanity and social order are the best fruits dell'insocievolezza, which is forcing itself to discipline and to play so thoroughly with the seeds of art forced nature "

( Immanuel Kant, Idea for a Universal History from the standpoint of cosmopolitan 1784)

The first work of interest to the conception of philosophy of history in Kant 's Idea for a story universal in terms of cosmopolitan of 1784 appear in the title Enlightenment conceptions of history considered universal in the sense that it disregards the individual stories of individual nations, wanting to show the story as belonging to all people without distinction: then it can not be that universal and cosmopolitan as well as in his Essay on the costumes Voltaire called it which, moreover, goes back even the expression philosophy of history (in La philosophie de l'histoire of 1765

Kant's reflection on the history then you will find further discussion in the text for the perpetual peace is a philosophical project of 1795 , where he will take account of the contemporary historical situation changed radically with the outbreak of the French Revolution

discourse on the philosophy of the story eventually found its conclusion it The conflict of the faculties (1798), where he examines the clash between the universities to conquer the leadership in the academic world. This would seem alien to the subject of written philosophy of history if we do not consider what Kant said in a brief snippet: " If mankind is in constant progress towards the better. "Here begins to appear a certain vein of skepticism that Kant begins with the vision of Terror Giacobbino under the eyes, to have some doubts about the value of the French Revolution.

Idea for a Universal History ...

In particular in 'Idea for a Universal History ... Kant says that "since men, in their efforts, not simply behave instinctively, like animals, but not so pre [...] of them does not seem possible a systematic history, like that of bees or beavers for which there is a progressive history and eternal, as regulated by those same laws that govern nature because man is able to freely build his story but it is not to do it by pursuing the good. Kant adds: "You can not suppress a certain discomfort to see represented their [men] do and omit on the big stage of the world, and despite the appearance, from time to time, wisdom is [...] the do and omit interwoven with infantile vanity, "so that human actions, albeit sometimes guided by rationality, the more often seem designed to implement the bad, almost without realizing it, as children do in their simplicity. Then "For the philosopher is no other way out but to [...] groped if, in this absurd trend of human affairs, one can discover a view of nature": that is, the philosopher can not fail to have confidence in men, and then wonders if in the end, despite the childish and stupid act of men, there is a kind of secular historical providence, incarnating in nature, lead the men and their actions to the best purposes ('all natural dispositions of a creature are destined to unfold one day in a complete and conforms to an end ") . A story where people are manipulated like puppets to put in place "a story within a specific plan of nature" that pursues its own purposes, also against the will of men
